mint interview | 設計師專訪 Kato @kato_work
在最近的訪談中，1:6 人偶服裝設計師Kato深入分享了他的職業旅程以及創作理念。他的第一份工作是透過理工大學的職業介紹獲得的，進入了一家曾經在金馬倫道開設時裝店的公司。
Kato的創作履歷並非一帆風順。人生如戲，他曾因緣際會結識了一位玩具店東主，進而與美國製片人展開跨界合作，正當他辭去工作、準備全身心投入這場創意博弈時，命運卻開了一個玩笑 —— 製片人悄然回流美國，留下他在未知的十字路口重新校準方向。這場無疾而終的合作，雖是遺憾，卻也成了他重新定義自我風格的轉捩點。
談及創作的核心，Kato展現出一種近乎偏執的細膩。他深諳「真實」與「完美」之間的博弈：單純依賴傳統製衣技術，往往會受限於布料本身的物理極限，難以達到極致的視覺張力。因此，他習慣打破常規，尋找非傳統的解構方法去創作。以一件牛仔衫為例，他會遊走於網絡數據與精確尺寸之間，將靈感數據化，再用獨特的視角與手藝轉譯成現實中觸得到的質感。
「記住，你自己覺得好沒有用，要別人覺得你好才是成功的。」
Kato認為，「耐性」與「自省」是通往成功之路必經的洗禮。能夠走出低谷、受得了考驗，並在不斷的自我檢視中提升作品的高度，才是生存之道。他強調，設計不應只是閉門造車的自我感動，真正的成功指標，在於作品能否在受眾心中引起迴響，獲得認可。
