Took a trash walk with 20 creators today and discovered two things: people litter WAY too muchā¦and creators will absolutely turn picking up garbage into a competitive sport šš thank you @newmanparkerr for hosting the event!!

I had a little skin cancer scare recently. Donāt worry, Iām totally fine and they got all of it. But in honor of #MelanomaMonday, here are 3 things Iām taking very seriously now:
1ļøā£ Know your skin. Pay attention to new spots or anything changing in size, shape, or color. Mine started as a tiny spot on my arm, but it kept getting bigger and darker, and my gut knew something was off.
2ļøā£ Get an annual skin check. Itās quick, easy, and thorough (yes, even between your toes and under your nails). Thatās how they caught my Stage 0 melanoma early, and removed it with a simple procedure.
3ļøā£ Wear sunscreen. Seriously. I couldāve been better about it, and Iāve had some bad burns over the years. I wouldnāt be surprised if one of them led to this š
If you want me to share more about what I learned or the removal process (thereās actually some really interesting chemistry involved), just let me know!Ā ā±ļø
#ad BREAKING: After years in the lab (and several questionable taste tests), Iāve officially engineered a totally real holiday where Taco Tuesday and Cinco de Mayo align on the same dayš®āļø#tacototality
Youāre welcome, world! Please celebrate responsibly (and by responsibly, I mean with extra guac and @oldelpaso ).
You can help us take Notre Dame Science on the roadāand the most powerful way to do that is by giving today on #NDday! āļø
The ND Science Tour will bring hands-on experiments, live demonstrations, and moments of discovery to communities across the country. Led by @katethechemist , this initiative connects students, faculty, and families through engaging, curiosity-sparking experiences.
Your #NDday gift supports travel, materials, and the tools needed to make science exciting, accessible, and impactful wherever we go.
And it all adds up:
$5 = one dry ice bubble
$15 = five thundercloud demos
$30 = one elephantās toothpaste reaction
$60 = three exploding paint cans
And in the ND Day Challenge, itās not the amount of the gift that matters mostāitās the number of people who give. Every single donor helps us climb the rankings!

Weāre passionate about creating meaningful interactions between scientists and the public, fostering mutual learning, and empowering informed decision-making. Partner with us!

Iām turning 40 this year⦠and Iāve decided to go all in on a dream Iāve had for a long time: taking a full-on SCIENCE SHOW on the road šš„
I want to bring explosive, hands-on science to communities everywhere: schools, theaters, small towns. Anywhere people are curious and ready to be amazed.
This isnāt just a tour. Itās a leap. Itās choosing now to build something bold, a little chaotic, and completely unforgettable. And while @notredamescience is supporting this mission (which Iām so grateful for!), this dream only becomes real with YOU š«µš¼
The coolest part? Every donation, no matter how small, helps make the show happen:
šØ $5 = one dry ice bubble
āļø $15 = five thundercloud demos
š§Ŗ $30 = one elephantās toothpaste reaction
šØ $60 = three exploding paint cans
If youāve ever laughed, learned, or thought āwaitā¦science is actually cool??ā, this is your chance to help me bring that feeling to thousands more people.
Link in stories! Letās make 40 the year we take science everywhere šāØ
Spent the day in Miami at a @ted gathering with 43 incredible creators talking about one big question: how do we actually combat climate change? š
I got to share a quick lecture on the science behind climate change, learn from brilliant humans across disciplines, and then somehow ended the afternoon at a drag show performed by the iconic @pattiegonia .
Science, storytelling, community, and sequins - it honestly feels like the exact energy we need to tackle big problems āØ
