Speaking of the primary suite in our Kawartha Cottage project, the ensuite is where everything softens even further. Wrapped in warm tile and natural wood, the space feels grounded and quietly nostalgic. The freestanding tub sits beneath the window, where filtered lake light moves gently through linen, shifting throughout the day. It’s a balance of detail and restraint, with just enough contrast to give depth without disrupting the calm. A space designed to slow you down. A bedroom designed to feel like a retreat within the retreat. In the primary suite at our Kawartha Cottage, everything is softened. Warm neutrals, layered textiles, and tailored upholstery create a quiet, cocooning atmosphere that feels both refined and deeply comfortable. Pattern is introduced gently through drapery and bedding, adding depth without disrupting the calm. Tucked beneath the eaves, a small sitting area by the fire offers a place to slow down at the end of the day, while filtered light from the lake moves softly through the space. Comfort, considered. A little Easter charm, tucked into every corner 🐇 In the daughter’s room of our Kawartha Cottage project, bunny motifs are woven throughout in the sweetest way, from the pillows to the artwork above the bed, with charming details layered into the window seat and built-in bookcase. Designed to mirror her brother’s room, it’s a cozy, storybook-like space filled with warmth and childhood magic. It feels especially fitting for Easter, inspired by the kind of mornings spent snuggled up by the window, watching the sun rise as bunnies hopped down the laneway outside. Wishing everyone a happy Easter weekend and a beautiful long weekend filled with joy, laughter, and special moments with family 🌷 Creative Community: @katestuartinteriors @falling.for.home 📷: @patrickbiller

A cottage that feels like it’s always belonged here🤍 For the living and family room, the goal was simple: stay connected, even when someone’s by the fire, someone’s in the kitchen, and the kids are turning the sectional into a fort, while keeping those panoramic lake and garden views front and centre. We started with durable, neutral foundations so nothing feels too precious, then layered in the personality with Lewis and Wood textiles, antique rugs, and pattern that brings warmth and depth without sacrificing everyday livability. Thoughtful custom pieces do the heavy lifting, especially the coffee table designed to help corral games, books, and the always in rotation toy pile, while the stone fireplace grounds the space with that instant exhale feeling. One of our favourite details is the tapestry wrapped mirror above the mantle, proof that the best moments are the ones with a story. A dining room designed for real life and happy company. Custom millwork and vintage layers bring instant “settled” character, while the details keep it family proof, washable seat cushions, a stain resistant rug made from recycled water bottles, and oversized centerpiece bowls ready for little hands to fill with seasonal treasures. Set within an open main floor, it is a place to host, linger, and stay connected, with the lake and gardens always just beyond the windows. We didn’t get to share the full Kawartha story, including this stellar kitchen. Designed to feel lived-in from day one, it’s equal parts hardworking and warmly collected: a rollaway island for the everyday shuffle, café curtains that soften the light, an antique rug underfoot, and a pot rail dressed with art (plated to match the Classic Brass hardware used throughout). Timeless, durable, and genuinely welcoming, it’s the kind of kitchen that invites everyone to gather, cook, linger and still feel completely at home. As the season shifts, we’re sharing an early glimpse of our #KawarthaCottage project. This 5000 sq ft lakeside retreat started as a well loved piece of family land that was under utilized and without a home, and has now become a place this family will gather in, grow into, and one day pass down. Designed by @katestuartinteriors and @falling.for.home , this year round cottage was imagined with longevity at its core. We can’t give everything away just yet, but here are a few moments to enjoy ✨ 📷: @patrickbiller Shoot Styling: Meg Crossley

A retreat within a retreat. The primary suite in our #SummerhillVictorian merges two former bedrooms into a moody, layered space with French doors opening to a seasonal balcony, an ingenious use of the reclaimed roofline. Inside, custom paneling and rich textures set the tone, while the ensuite offers quiet indulgence with a freestanding tub and marble finishes. Use the link in our bio to explore the rest of the home! Paneling, paint, and a bespoke island turned this kitchen in our #SummerhillVictorian project into a moody backdrop for vintage fixtures and global finds. In the dining room, bold art and sculptural lighting strike the balance between collected and refined. A London-flat soul with brownstone edge. ✨ Creative Community: @katestuartinteriors @tanyabonusdesign 📷: @patrickbiller #TOMDesignCollective #KitchenDesign #DiningRoomDesign #MoodyInteriors #VintageLighting
