Mental health and addiction go hand in hand. So many people come to a point where they would do anything to escape from these feelings of trauma, anxiery and depression. Even though there are so many people out there suffering in the same way, we truely do feel isolated and alone like we are the only ones carrying this burden. I don’t often get mushy hahah but I have wanted to give a special shout out and thank you to @claudiacoy she is the stunning lady on the other end of the couch who helped create a safe space for me to be able to tell my story. I’ve not always found it easy to open up and get vulnerable with other females. I’ve always been worried about being judged and criticised and comparing myself. Those insecurities that I’ve carried from childhood have prevented me from being able to establish close relationships with other women. Claudia has helped change that narrative for me. Along this journey, we have been able to build a beautiful friendship and I am so bloody grateful to have her in my corner. Overthinking → procrastination → anxiety → repeat. It’s a cycle I know all too well, and it’s challenged me my whole life. I get in my head… then I freeze. And the anxiety of not doing the things I know I need to do becomes heavier than the thing itself. And recently, that’s exactly what happened with social media. That’s a wrap! To say the last six weeks have been amazing would be a total understatement. Has travelling with a 1 and 3 year old been challenging? Absolutely. But for every hard moment, there have been so many more beautiful ones and I wouldn’t change it for the world. This trip reminded me that life is too short and to just do the thing. Eight years ago, I couldn’t even make it to the letterbox — let alone travel around the world with my family. Proof that anything is possible.
