I ran my 10th marathon in Victoria last weekend! It was my first marathon in 2011 and this was my 5th time running this course. I managed to snag 2nd female in a time of 2:44:47. After my dnf at Tarawera in Feb, I realized I needed to take a step back from trail racing because I had lost the joy and I wanted to refocus. I decided to focus on speed, which lead me back to running 2 road marathons this year. Most people do the reverse transition and go to trails, but there’s something that pulls me to the consistent effort of racing marathons. Plus, I find I put a lot less pressure on myself than I do in the trails, and I get a lot out of the training. I’m not sure what my 2026 calendar will look like, but I’m just remembering to do what feels exciting and good…whatever that may be ✌🏼
a weekend spent tootling around the tantalus range!
a big thanks to @jasonbuddofficial for showing us the ropes and ensuring we got to soak up as much of the days as possible 😝
Summit of The Grand Teton! Didn’t realize this was on my bucket list until I was doing it! Massive thank you to @exumguides : Brenton, Jess, Morgan & Ty for the incredible week in the mountains and to some super fun colleagues for making it a work trip for the books.
Also, sorry to my mom for telling her I was going on a ‘hike’ but then sending photos of myself lugging ropes up a mountain with a helmet on 😅

You’ll chat about running, community, and staying safe in the mountains, plus dive into the basics of the sport. Afterward, hang out on the beach, enjoy some snacks, take a dip, and keep the conversation going about running and what it means to the group.

one more sleep until GO time!
feeling ready to roll and extra extra excited to experience the magic of the @taraweraultratrail course tomorrow ♥️
hundreds of miles run and tons of other prep have all lead up to this race. I’m hoping to have a great day out there and feel grateful for all the support I’ve received to get me to this spot @arcteryx@mountainroche (day 2923 in the log = 8 year coachaversary) and @mountain.sports.dietitian (for helping me through some wacky GI stuff this last month). Most important thank you goes out to Jeremey for his endless support through training (and life) and for making sure I’m always OK ♥️
see ya at the finish!!
A few scenes from winter training
although most of the miles I’ve run this winter have been during the dark mornings, I’m grateful for the daylight runs I get to do and being able to capture these pretty moments
excited to be nearing the end of this training block and starting the 2025 season with @taraweraultratrail 100km in 3 weeks! Ready to roll!
My 2024 highlight reel isn’t full of a ton of grandiose moments (especially in terms of running achievements) but from getting a new boss to going to see The Boss, seeing some new corners of the world and learning new things, I’m grateful for all the people (& dogs) and moments that made up my year ♥️
