For 13 years I’ve been a judge @disabilityfilmchallenge and it’s a marvel not only to watch these perspective shifting films but to see how strong and talented the disabled community really is and how this event has grown and forged real community. 25% of people in the US identify as disabled while only 5% of disabled roles are played by disabled actors. Let’s do better! I always try to open my casting to age, gender, ethnicity, race AND ability because representation matters!!! Back in 2018 I directed the pilot for this genius genius show FLORIDA GIRLS which i just learned is NOW STREAMING ON AMAZON Showrunner/Star @laurachinnnn & I had to make many tough decisions, there were jetskies, bunnies, aligators, iguanas, dead manatees, the funniest/sexiest group of women ever assembled, @olyobst , hurricanes and more. Fun fact: editorial maestro @zene_b and i previously worked together on She Hulk, Emmy award winner and Oscar nominee @johndebney scored my last universal film Marry Me, on which @mikeknobloch and @rachelalevy also worked their MAGIC!
