Asiat taisi lähteä Muodin Huipulle sarjasta, josta Seiska lehti teki musta artikkelin lähettämäs Käärijälle terkut. Jere laitto mulle viestiä, ja törmättiin Portion Boys keikalla. Sit yhdessä suunniteltiin, plänäiltiin ja minä ja mun assarit toteutettiin tää asu. Ja miten ihana tyyppi Jere onkaan!! Tän työstäminen ja yhteistyö oli todella upeaa🫶🏻
Eilen Böle Arenalla Käärijä veti 2x keikat, joissa asu pääs ensimmäistä kertaa lavalle. Oli upeeta nähdä lopputulos in action. 💚 Tätä asua päästään näkemään tän kesän keikoilla ja myös muillakin isoilla lavoilla!🌚

The silicone dress
In this look I wanted to make another skin, that feels like skin and would be even uncomfortable to wear. I handmade a material from silicone, silicone coloring and organza. This material has been by far the hardest material to sew but the material itself ended up being extremely strong - nothing could break it.
In my collection, The Fear of Unbeing, I explore dissociation, which is a trauma-based response of the human brain.
I feel that dissociation is one of the major responses to this generation’s communal traumas.
People describe their experiences of dissociation as frightening and confusing. Symptoms can include: feeling alienated from one’s own body, memory loss, detachement from reality, loss of emotions, feelings of numbness, feeling of living inside a movie or a dream and people and surroundings feeling unreal.
I wanted the making of this collection to be a therapeutic journey for myself. Throughout the process I explored my own childhood memories in order to bring them back to my own reality and precense.
Exploring new materials felt intuitive - I created my own material with silicone which is a major element in most of the looks. The material is speaking the language of bodily experiences, numbness and deattachment.
Combining my own personal style in fashion design I wanted to create familiar silhuettes yet in a unfamiliar nature.
Dissociation is a beautiful and interesting work of our brains, but leaves many in quiet despair. It is a taboo of our generation and its existence should be more highlighted today.
