Recent poster designs for events at BRUS, as seen in the streets of Copenhagen, featuring a hyper gradient composed of all the gradients from the Implosion series of non-alcoholic beers and an attempt to reconcile neo-classicism with op art.
Here is a look at the graphic elements made to promote To Øl’s partnership with the international film festival CPH:DOX. The graphic elements consist of a cinema trailer shown before each of the over 500 screenings, printed advertising and environmental graphics applied in and around To Øl’s brewpub BRUS, which hosted CPH:DOX-related events, talks and parties in collaboration with the nearby cinema Empire.
Instead of pushing To Øl’s logo on all the graphics, a vocabulary of abstract graphic forms is used to refer to the To Øl universe while still maintaining a kind of identity on its own. The graphic forms are used in the cinema trailer, synchronised to a monotone, gloomy soundtrack; they also appear on the printed graphics, sometimes overlaying a more formally composed grid of CPH:DOX logos.
The gloomy soundtrack of the cinema trailer contrasts with the brightly coloured graphics and may hint at a possibly darker interpretation of the otherwise cheerful graphics: the king’s fool being sad and tired behind all the festive makeup and expressive costumes.

Recent architecture and landscape related photographs from northern Italy, eastern Denmark, and southern Sweden featuring, among other things, the merger of historic churches with commercial motion graphics, glitches in the Scandinavian dream, sepulture-related flower arrangements, warehouse fetishism, garbage still lifes, and naval aesthetics. #architecture #architecturephotography #landscapephotography #landscapephotograp #architecturephotos
Another round of photos from eastern Denmark and northern Italy depicting the architecture of big and small capitalism, social housing, the wastelands of construction, and a yellow Eiffel Tower, of course. #architecture #architecturephotography #photography #urbanism #copenhagen #milano #landscape #landscapephotography

Snapshots from a recent field trip to the Port of Hamburg. The photos depict a landscape defined by globalised shipping, restricted areas, and special legal zones planned with little attention to the human scale.

During a recent trip to Milan, I had a chance to visit a few of the less canonised works of Italian architect Aldo Rossi. Pic 1-3: Residential Unit, Vialba Area, 1985-1991. Pic 4-7: Expansion of the Ponte Sesto Cemetery, 1989-1999. Design update for Whirl Domination IPA, one of To Øl’s core products. An abstract, colourful background has been added to the deadpan typographic composition. The background has been horizontally cut into different segments that both support the typography but also disrupt it slightly. #design #graphicdesign #packaging #packagingdesign #typography #beerpackagingdesign #beerpackaging #beerlabeldesign #beerlabelart #beerlabel #toøl #toolbeer @toolbeer
Here are a few monochrome grid-based labels. The artworks don’t have an obvious centre, and the grids are bleeding over the edges, implying that what is seen on the label might just be a smaller part of a much bigger composition. From the left, it is 45 Days Rice Lager, Hverdagens Helte IPA and New Moon. #design #graphicdesign #packaging #packagingdesign #beerlabel #beerlabelart #beerlabeldesign #toøl #toolbeer @toolbeer
