We said goodbye last night to my beautiful father. He had a brilliant, creative mind and a fiercely competitive spirit, but his kind blue eyes revealed what was inside…a deeply sensitive soul. He believed in justice and honesty and his love for his family was strong and powerful. His paintings express all that he was. Growing up with them was one of the most important parts of my childhood…how much he could say with a brush and paint.
You will always be with us Big Mike. Hope you are up on the tennis court right now, smashing some serves. Godspeed Daddy.
Thank you to the wonderful, soulful Laurence Benaïm and Marie Claire Czech for the interview about my show at Stems Paris in this month’s issue. Vymítání touhy = Compulsion of desire. 🎯
Thank you TIDE Magazine for this wonderful feature in the Winter issue. Thank you to Marie Auger for your insightful words. It is so rewarding when someone takes the time to notice the clues one puts in the paintings.
“In one, a young man is depicted lying under the moonlight. A sort of clothed Endymion, he casts a fleeting, imagined glance at the young woman who observes him, her back turned to us. Between the lines, a question arises: how do women develop their fantasies in a patriarchal society? Playboy magazine’s presence in certain works further enhances this reflection.” - Marie Auger.
Hope you all can check out more of Auger’s writing and the rest of this great issue of TIDE.
Thank you to the fantastic team at Stems, to all my wonderful friends and to the kind souls who came to the show and made Paris such an unforgettable experience! Wish we could do it all over again.
