One year ago we started filming “The Orange Typewriter” my graduation project which I cowrote with my wonderful @egecaglar12 who also did the cinematography.
It’s crazy to think a whole year has passed and how much has happened since. I script supervised two features, graduated university, changed flats, travelled to a few countries and I’m soon jumping into my next project as a 1st AD. I’m really grateful for all the wonderful people in my team and all the love they poured into this project. To celebrate I’d like to share our first LAUREL!!! Couldn’t be from anywhere else but my hometown Madrid.
¡VIVA EL CINE!
Here are some photos from my latest work as a Script Supervisor for Ocado’s advert “Tea Huggers”.

What a lovely cast, crew and project to have been a part of. Really excited to be able to share the results really soon!
•
Thank you @arthur_melngalvis for these lovely photos!
Last night I had the pleasure to attend the London Premiere of “The Spin”, a film where I worked as the script supervisor.
A night full of memories of everything we experienced together for that one month we all moved to Omagh two years ago.
Seeing the final result made me emotional in so many levels.
I was lucky enough to share that experience with some of my good friends from university and being all together last night really felt like the end of “The Spin” chapter.
Here are some of the photos from last night, alongside my first time seeing my name on a feature’s credits on the big screen.

Hello Madrid!
My name is Karla Isabel Barroso. I’m a freelance writer director and after 6 years of studying, working and living in London I finally relocated back in my hometown.
•
I studied BA Film at Middlesex University majoring in Producing, Directing and Screenwriting. I had the wonderful opportunity to be a part of multiple short films in different capacities such as 1st Assistant Director, Screenwriter, Producer, Production Assistant and Director of my own projects.
I even got to travel for some of these projects, exploring the challenges that come with working on a production abroad with a crew that speaks a different language.
•
After graduating I had the wonderful opportunity to Script Supervise two feature films. The first one a British Gangster Heist Film based in London and the second one an Irish Comedy set in Omagh.
•
I’m excited to start this new chapter in my career and really looking forward to connect with the industry in my hometown. I’m eager to work and create in this beautiful city.
•
I’m happy to connect via DM!

On the featured photos it’s a selection of some of the sets I have been a part of in the last 6 years in London.

A short scene that I wrote back in 2020 for @factoriadelguion when I was studying screenwriting in Madrid.
I’m so glad that after 5 years I was finally able to produce this project and bring it to life with such a talented hardworking crew in London.

“Aria is a woman going through the process of grief due to the end of a deeply meaningful and intimate relationship. But the way nostalgia and pain show up that night at the club will allow her to explore a side of her she didn’t know she could have”
Exploring themes such as loss, intimacy and sexual frustration, soon you will see this short yet impactful piece of work we brought to life that random Saturday at 10pm.

I rarely post pictures of myself in front of the camera. But this is a wonderful photo that @nefeli.dimakea took of me for a university project 4 years ago.
When we were using the worst projector to make so interesting visual art. Miss our first flat and all the memories we had there!

@nefeli.dim & @anamiikadas_ ❤️ the family I choose
Nearly one year after filming “What Would the Neighbors Think” we gathered again with a slightly larger, just as amazing crew to film “Me Time”.
