This short film is the heartfelt story about my mom's collection of Precious Moments figurines. Discussing the 30+ year collection, how she got started, what each figurine means to her & how stepping into a new period of life is forcing the detachment from certain items, but always keeping those moments close internally.

Meet Carrie Feng: Sphynx breeder & cat fancy competitor from Tianjin, China. She travels days to attend international competitions. Along her journey she has connected & learned from many breeders, competitors & judges. Her color point sphynx is an open champion in the cat fancy.

Meet Don Williams: Cat Fanciers’ Association judge. He has been an official judge for over 60 years. Taking an early buyout from his job at AT&T in the 70’s, he left the company to judge the cat fancy full time alongside his late wife. Throughout his career he has traveled all over Europe, Asia & the US expanding the cat fancy following, perfecting his craft & doing what he loves. When not working the fancy, he stays active handling his farm in northern Florida & running his automobile business.

Meet Sue Robbins: Sturdi Products Vendor & cat fancy participant. Sue is from Virginia & has been selling products for the company for 20 years. Such as travel & carrying cases for cats. The majority of the events participants use her products exclusively. Along with being the East Coast vendor for Sturdi, she is a competitor in the Cat Fancy for many years. Her cat, Giuseppe De Luca, is a natural mink Tonkinese. Giuseppe is a grand champion in the competition.

Last year I went to Sanford, Florida & spent the weekend at The Cat Club of the Palm Beaches cat fancy. An event traveling statewide showing cats of many breeds, vendors & feline organizations. From setup to breakdown, I got to see how a show of this nature is brought to life. A real labor of love all around. From costume contests to cat portraits there was a bit of everything that brought all animal lovers together.
