“Bay Area, When?!” is our follow up to the inspiring YBCA Bay Area Then show which closes in a week. We are digging deeper into the theses that curator Eungie Joo staked out at YBCA—that SF’s art community in the 80s and 90s had a particular street magic.
“Bay Area, When?!” expands on that view with a roster of over 35 artists, known and unknown, from that period and today.

Hickey as seen through the lens of Karoline Hanson Collins who kept the band alive...errr, ROADIED for them...on 3 tours between 1994-1996. Tons of sweaty live photos and tender behind-the-scenes moments that tell a story of a Naked Cult that is still vibrant 30 years later.
Originally released in 2022, this is a 2025 reprint with 8 new pages, including postcards from the road, a pic of the elusive Hickey Million and much more!
36 pages, 8.5x11”, full color, pro-printed, saddle-stitched. Looks like something you’d pick up at a KISS or Duran Duran concert in 1983 and THAT’S A GOOD THING!
