I didn’t post on Mother’s Day. Partially because I was in blissful analog mode. And partially because I’m not much of a holiday celebrater, and Mother’s Day brings up so many emotions for so many people. I guess, including me.
That said, I came across these pictures of my babies when they were babies. The process of becoming their mother - and the human that I have become since they have come to this planet to, in many ways, mother me (not in responsibility, but in the ways new eyes force inevitable growth) is something that I probably won’t fully understand until I breathe my last breath.
What a wild journey this life is.
Did you know you can download a sample ballot before going to the polls? It’s a great way to familiarize yourself with the people who are running for local office. Like judges and school board members and city officials that actually affect much more of your day-to-day life - and your kid’s lives - than the biggies.
Embarrassingly, I used to go into the polls and kind of guess or vote on the “smaller” elections based on who had the best name. For real. Which is a terrible way to do it! I have since learned that there are some really good resources online that can help us be prepared and informed when we’re going to the polls. And then it feels more fun and actually empowering!
