2025 my babe you were perfectly imperfect!
I gained I lost and gained a lot more than I lost. This was a lot of solitude and acts of service that I didn’t quite understand. I even stopped drinking for a bit 😂.
But in the end those quiet moments alone led to so many big moments that had me sobbing and asking what did I do to deserve such favour.
It was indeed the year of the snake.
I’m not done crying over what @ride_joburg meant for me! From @papa_akani and @shaakir_the_cyclist saying we need more girls on bikes and at social rides. To actually creating @_girlsonbikes_ 🚲🌸.
Today - well yesterday lol, having girlies compete at their first cycling race, in kit we quickly organized lol and cutesy training. We finished.
Oh also do you know what a privilege it is to ride a bicycle on the HIGHWAY and major roads in Joburg - made for you to explore the city on 2 wheels.
My heart is full and you know what 2025 you owe me NOTHING!
The many things I love about riding and running in Soweto (also not me saying I love it when I had a deep fear when I started riding bikes 😂🤭). Is how the kids want to run after us, wave and scream hello at every corner.
And the takeaway here is representation matters.

After cycling 30km yesterday. @lisa_cwayita and I decided to do another one (well rounded off to the nearest 10 🤭😂). And you know what I highly recommend friendships, hobbies and most importantly doing hard things that remind you that you are stronger than you think. 🚲✨🤍
Argh I need my friends to get married weekly oro monthly! Bona fela ke montle jwang ✨😮💨
Also more than anything I’m so proud of the investment I made in my smile all those years with braces really paid off.

I always thought that growing up without a dad meant I would miss out on experiences like learning how to ride a bike and I obvs didn’t want to burden my brother with having to teach me. But as the world would have it @banditzbicycleclub was formed and I am 2 years later telling girlies to be brave and that there is nothing to be scared of when riding a bike.
This experience alone has shown me that girls really do love each other and safe places where girlies can meet other girls, form friendships, enjoy adult hobbies still exists 🤍✨. Building this community is testament that sisterhood and girlhood is one of the greatest concepts ever 🤌🏾🔥.
