Arsenale Exhibition-19th International Architecture Exhibition – @labiennale curated by @crassociati
Operating continuously throughout the Biennale, this living installation functions as a microbial factory where a robotic arm incrementally builds an architectural structure by layering granulates and spraying biocement enriched with bacterial cultures. Through biomineralization, loose particles solidify into cohesive forms. Inspired by stromatolites, the system stages a site-specific performance shaped by material, machine, microbes, and time.

Throwing oneself again and again into the river/lake/sea, chasing shapes of water. Trusting the currents...thinking about this quote lately that it feels like is talking to me directly. “Water is the consummate immigrant, trapped in transit, never able to settle” Elif Shakaf.
Venice-Zurich-Ilha Grande/Brasil my 2025 waters.
.
A precious animation made in collaboration with my genius friend @ramiro_iturrioz .
This was a little attempt to visualise the micro world, where the tiniest architects (bacteria) grow unique and beautiful crystals structures. ⚡️💖

Kyotango is a parallel world, where rocks emerge from the sea in all kinds of shapes. Some are softer and more colorful, others are full of sharp angles and dark corners. You can go up a bit and see it all different, expansive, with many other rocks emerging along the other beaches. Then go down and get up close to all the beauty of the micro world. Next to it, the magic village, with old wooden houses, tatamis, paper doors, and earthen walls; so simple and harmonious where symmetry is not a quality. Family, childhood, water, light food, and sun, there are not many more questions to ask after all.
“Enter the void” feeling.
Tokyo’s rainy nights, are almost like an endless feeling of high, with their intense colors, smells, sounds and neon lights. Moved with the reflection of a city in its raindrops, and its thousands of little cozy places.
We had too many highballs with Sakura, the happiest bartender. 🤍
