For the cover of Muyu Journal: Issue 01 – The New Landlords, we present the one and only @drizilik . Rooted in Freetown and shaped by language, sound, and place, he speaks from a deep awareness of where he comes from and what it means to carry that forward. Reflecting on the city that raised him, tracing how identity, rhythm, and intention continue to move through his work.
The New Landlords looks at a generation of Sierra Leoneans defining its own ground. This is one of the faces leading that shift.

Drizilik sits down with @kanuvisuals to unpack the role of place in shaping his journey, from the streets of Freetown that raised him to the wider world his music now moves through.
Moving between language, memory, and responsibility, the conversation traces how Krio, culture, and community continue to shape his sound and sense of self.

@kanuvisuals joins this years #DazedMENA100 list for using photography to shift the narrative around Freetown and Sierra Leone beyond the Western gaze.
Through still, cinematic portraits and street scenes, Kanu rejects stereotypical depictions of Africa and builds an archive of everyday life that honours the rhythm of his home and belonging from within.

Spontaneously became a new landlord of one copy from the newest and best magazine that hit Salone couple of days ago. A cycling event and a pickup from @kanuvisuals and thank you brother for thinking so smart and just made pickup easy even on a busy day for you. Also i learnt from him that “Muyu” is a Temne word which means patient. Temne is among one of the largest ethnic speaking group in Sierra Leone 🇸🇱 and the key at the back speaks volume. Patient is the key 🔑
Special thank you to @vanessa.vandenb another new Landlord 🤣
The power and the glory! 🏆
Your Lunsar women's champion 2026 is Rebecca K. Samba of Bo. Not just a mighty racer, but a leader in her community... when she's not training, she's busy recruiting more riders for her club. Congratulations, champion.
We are so, so proud to see two Lunsar riders on the podium as well. Mbalu battled hard, riding nearly the whole race solo in pursuit of Rebecca, while Ramatulai took a close sprint for third.
Congratulations to all the women athletes who took part.

Bike racing returned to Lunsar Town today!
We saw fierce competition across U19, hand-cycle and U12 categories, and heroic performances across them all.
@kanuvisuals was there to capture the action.
