Harare ↔️ Mt. Darwin | January 2023 1. Conductor collecting bus fares 2. Our ticket/receipt of payment 3. Potholes on the road had my watch thinking I’m doing a workout 4. One of my favorite things when I’m at bus/kombi ranks is reading what they have on their buses. I think this was influenced by one of Mugabe’s speeches. 5. First stop to pick up people headed to Mt. Darwin after leaving Mbare Musika 6. Chicken Slice. lol these places don’t taste the same anymore but what’s a long journey on the bus without buying chicken inn/chicken slice before boarding!

✨Random flicks from my digital journal ✨ 1. How many flags can you spot? 2. When Archie bought a pretzel, I thought it was for us, but it was for the fish lol. 3. Fruits in Nigeria… 4. The patience these tailors have for putting the beads on the dresses. What a wawu! 5. Brother in Love making friends in Wuse Market 6. Primary School memories unlocked - kiwi hated to see us coming lmao 7. The way to my heart & Chidinma always gets me 8. Childhood memory unlocked - drinking freezits 9. If this piece could speak and tell all the stories. Piece by my cousin HenMap 10. Apparently I brought badluck, because we didn’t see a single whale 11. Adventurous day, ended up taking a scenic drive 12. Fireboy’s concert in Oakland

I facilitated a workshop with Igbo 'grief' songs, as an invitation to others to tap in their ancestral cultures and creativity to deepen and expand their mourning and death vocabulary. Thank you to the World Arts West @worldartswest team for including me in your 2025 programming line up. And to the @thebeatberk studios for hosting the weekend. I think this may have been the first time in a long while that I held space for others, where I've felt held myself. Arriving at the intention and specificity of my own cultural practice is a gift that I'd give myself over and over. We cried. We chuckled. We shared some moving and stirring poems/songs. An amazing accomplishment for a 1hr workshop centering death and grief. Thank you to my Igbo culture teacher and guide Ifeanyi Akabueze @okachamma_dance . Thank you to Kanukai for being my right handlegwaist. To my family in and far for how they support and show out for me. To friends, funders, and community who have gassed this journey. And the ancestors hyping me up from the other realm. And for my ndi igbo bad gyals @natachi.life , @pleasure.as.compass who showed up and held down our ancestral soundscape with authenticity and beauty. Folks are asking when the next one is. I'm still working on workshops/grief circle dates, but part of this 'work' is play as well. Sooooooo you can cash me outside WILL YOU JOIN MY TEAM so we can win the championship?? If your grief had a voice right now, what might it be saying? “Onwudiwe, a daughter’s grief” is out (link in my bio) Igbo daughters reflect on the love and pain of losing a parent. An experimental short film featuring three millennial Igbo women reflecting on the memories and impact of the death of their parents. This short is a prelude to a documentary film on millennials, death of a parent and their tussle with Igbo Babygirl got her first producer credits (sips tea). Muzukuru waLaiza arikufara. Link in my bio to watch. Thank you.

Among the 50,000 trials and tribulations, and excesses and delights… I’ve been working on film and documentary projects in tandem. Annnnd omg we are going to release a short short in June. And I have to put it here so once & for all I can release SOMETHING… as we make our way through the hundreds of footage we’ve been gathering since 2022. Anyway…. Okay. I’ll brb. .p.s why do i look like there’s a plunger in my nyash while on set? ‘Cos let me tell you about living with eviscerating pain, but needing to keep with a production schedule that everyone has come from different parts of the state/city/world for.
