Chief of War… what an amazing experience. Forever grateful for the opportunity to be apart of such an influential and monumental show.
This was the pinnacle of my career. A dream come true. I waited 22 years to be able to participate on a project that wasn’t just entertainment. But a history lesson for the world…focused on telling the story of our people, culture, language, and the challenges our ancestors faced in the attempt to unify the islands we call home. Hawaii.
Going into it, we all knew how tough this shoot was gonna be. Getting gear into shoot locations was probably some of the biggest hurdles most departments faced. We did lava fields, lava tube, waterfalls, ocean, beach, canoes, mountain pinnacles etc… This show discouraged a few faint hearts, broke a few spirits but if you endured working through Chief of War you can work on any production. . Shout out to the crew! No matter how windy, cold, wet, muddy, slippery, hot, or broken you felt… the crew operated on a sense of pride. Pride was a driving force onset. Nothing was further than that truth at wrap with crew and hundreds of background cheering and expressing their mahalo to Jason , support and appreciation for one another, and all those who made it happen. The atmosphere was buzzing as we all knew we were a part of something that was gonna be very special. Mahalo Nui to Jason Momoa, Pa’a Sibbett, Justin Chon, Brian Mendoza, Matthew Chuang, Angie Laprete, Brian Keaulana and Apple TV. Mahalo Nui to our camera teams, all departments, crew, and background. A special mahalo to our cast members. You all were so focused and committed despite the elements you all worked through both in Hawaii and Aotearoa. Forever grateful for this experience. Come on Season II
