Establishing a small winery in the hills of Kamloops wasn’t easy but their hard work paid off - Doug & Nic grew everything from the ground up, and know every vine, grape and glass inside out.
One of the most atmospheric, off the beaten track gems ever, nestled in amongst the sagebrush hills ☀️
We sipped, stomped and even enjoyed a picnic up in the vineyard to soak in the scenery.

Tasty Tuesday Tip 🍷
A little secret from the kitchen... The wine you cook with really does matter. Don’t just grab “any old bottle.” If it's not something you'd sip, it's probably not doing your dish any favours either. Choose a wine you actually enjoy. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it should be something you’d happily pour twice.
Because at the end of the day…
what’s good for the pot is good for the glass. 😉

An evening of wine, science, and one simple question: can you taste place?
@biglittlescience and @kamloopswinetrail brought together a room full of curious people on March 12 for The Science of Wine. Trish Morelli walked everyone through the geography, climate, and soil conditions that make the Thompson Valley a special place to grow grapes.
The short answer is yes, you can taste it. The longer answer involved five glasses and a lot of sipping.

2022 Monte Creek Riesling
2024 Privato Chardonnay
2019 Privato Grande Réserve Pinot Noir
& 2024 Sagewood Marechal Foch.
The staff from @montecreekwinery , @privatowine , and @sagewoodwinery were incredible throughout the evening, serving each wine and sharing the story behind every pour.
Terry Lake, president of the BLSC board, also made an appearance. He had nearly every hand in the room up when he floated one more question for the night: should the next one be a Science of Beer?
