Making this song helped me feel like a kid again. I went into the studio forgetting what I thought I knew about songwriting. This wasn’t a pop or r&b landscape I was playing in anymore. It was jazz house.
WTF IS JAZZ HOUSE? It circles feeling. It trusts repetition, but lets that repetition breathe.
It’s trying to hold a moment open.
