During my early college days, I lost essentially all my friends. I went through a year of loneliness and depression as it was difficult for me to make new ones. The one who was always there for me was my childhood dog, Freddie.
Some nights, I’d hold Freddie and cry, praying to be able to make new friends. As time went on, I slowly became more social. More people came over to the house and he was just as excited as I was that we were making friends again.
If you’ve ever met, scratched, cuddled, or fed Freddie his favorite quesadillas, thank you for being in my best friend’s life. You’ve made the two of us happier than you could ever imagine.
