In the personal minimal space of Margarete Schütte-Lihotzky (1897-2000). Would never have believed I step into her personal kitchen. She moved in the 55 m2 flat in her late years in 1970 and planned the flat to the last detail. Besides the smart modesty there’s an extravagant accent - a Kyrgyz wall hanging above her sleeping alcove bought from Magnitogorsk during her Soviet Union period

Ellen Parro was one of the designers, industrial artists called back in the 1950s when joining the textile factory in Sindi after graduating from the art institute, to design printed fabrics. Although we have had some samples of her designs exhibited at the permanent display for a few years, her work has remained largely anonymous until now. Her collection of around 100 patterns from 1953-1965 and a bit more arrived to the museum last year. A selection is on view now in the gallery @disainimuuseum . We are so grateful to her relatives for the thought and move

Sometimes its about beauty. Bruno Tomberg. Invention of Design was selected among the 25 most beautiful books published in Estonia in 2025 with excellent design by Indrek Sirkel and a font developed by Andree Paat based on Tomberg’s work.
This is a competition that has been held continuously since 1958, initiated by the Scientific and Technical Association of the Estonian Republic Polygraphic Industry and Publishers
