10 years ago, our founder @kaepernick7 created the Know Your Rights Camp after Mario Woods killed by police in San Francisco. Our first physical camp took place in Oakland California and being able to return back after all of these years has been powerful. In collaboration with the WNBA's Golden State Valkyries, our 16th Camp reached new heights. The day opened with a powerful fireside chat featuring our co-founders Colin and Nessa alongside legendary activist Dr. Angela Davis. This historic conversation set the tone for the entire day, delivering a clear message to our youth: their time to lead, to resist, and to transform the world is now. We are deeply grateful for two incredible women, Gwen Woods (Mother of Mario Woods) and Reverend Wanda Johnson (Mother of Oscar Grant), for joining. Mayor Dwayne D. Warren, Esq., presented the proclamation in front of a packed auditorium during the Orange Preparatory Academy of Inquiry & Innovation’s 8th Grade Moving Up Ceremony, where Colin was the surprise special guest speaker. He delivered a message that shook the room, rooted in courage, purpose, and the power of trusting your voice and believing in yourself. These scholars aren’t just moving up, they’re moving forward with tech, truth, and leadership. This year, they told their own stories using Lumi AI (@lumistoryai ) and showed the world what future-ready brilliance looks like. Met Gala 2025! My wife @nessnitty and I were excited to be part of this year’s Met Gala Theme: “Superfine: Tailoring Black Style” and honored to do it with Edward Enninful and Moncler’s signature style. I wore a custom Ozwald Boateng suit designed in collaboration with Edward Enninful and Moncler. It’s a bespoke 3 piece burgundy suit with a cape. Ozwald built the look around themes of honor, stability and pride. Over 400 young people gathered at the legendary #HBCU @harrisstowe , for a transformative day of learning and community empowerment. From legal rights to the history of St Louis, to art & activism, holistic health, and financial education, our sessions equipped tomorrow’s leaders with the tools they need to create change. We were deeply honored to be joined by Toni Taylor and Michael Brown Sr., whose courage continues to call for justice.
