I had the pleasure of living in Minneapolis for 1 year after grad school teaching in my first real teaching gig at the Art Institute downtown. I made many friends and built a strong community while I was there. They are seriously the nicest most caring people ever and resilient with the long character-building winters. Love you Minneapolis and ICE please get the fuck out already.

‘Oblique Strategies:’ Think: Inside the work | Outside the work.
The Oblique Strategies is a set of cards created by Brian Eno and Peter Schmidt in 1975. Each card suggests “a course of action or thinking to assist in creative situations.” This is the first card I pulled in the new year.

Since this is the last day of the year, thought I would highlight one of my favorite things from 2024, the ‘Butt…I Love You’ exhibition at @make.shiftartspace curated by my one of my bestest buddies @carrieannacooper . It was an ode to our friendship and shared love for butts. 🍑
I made three frame-by-frame animations that I edited, printed out, hand rotoscoped and cut up, then scanned back in, and restitched. Then I set them up to be hand-cranked in painted and mounted @flipbookit ‘Butt-o-scopes.’
It was a great night for all butt lovers!
