8 yrs old, I was battling the flu, laying on couch, next to big dog, duke, watching something flicker. door opened, it was dusk. young girl entered, followed by a giant man, her father. I remember i was sweating under a blanket, feeling wounded, in a vulnerable state. He had come to meet with my parents who were selling a vehicle that her father was purchasing for his eldest daughter. I remember, we made eye contact. Years pass, I’m 14, walking w/ friends to a game, we cross paths with a group of girls, one of them, her. She has a broken collar bone, vulnerable state. I touch it to engage. She expresses discomfort, we unite, re-unite. We feel something and start ‘dating’.
Me, 14, she, 13. Now, she 40, I, 41, its been 27 yrs. We’ve moved homes together 8 times, lived in many spaces, traveled the world together, in many forms, exposed and transmuted our shadows together, remaining committed, through thick and thin, been many different versions of ourselves, as a union, and continue to co-create together in faith, hope, harmony, nature, reverence, freedom. Nearly 10 years ago this song came to us following a series of impactful life events. Spring 2025, after a powerful ceremony, we recorded it, together. Now, is the time, we feel moved to share, as it is the anniversary of our marriage on this day,July 31st. Deep respect to our parents, our children, all the teachers seen and unseen along the way in the form of nourishment. Acknowledging the spectrum of reality - in this moment - great creator spirit GOD - relations- awareness of this one interconnectedness. this feeling, this truth, felt in and out.
