Finally getting to post this one. After I finished it I fell ill and had just enough strength to be present to hand it off to its rightful owner and take a few photos before it left the studio. Grateful to have been asked to move beyond the traditional square/rectangle format for this commission. The arched paintings I did last year were new for me as was this but the desire has been there for a while. More of these to come and if you like one of your own, give me a shout. It feels good to work with my Manifestor Generator energy type and to “respond” vs simply charging ahead. That won’t mean much to you if you don’t know Human Design, but IYKYK. Multiple shots because this one can be installed vertically or horizontally. But my favorite orientation is probably shown in Slide 1. #abstractartwork #shapedcanvas #shapesandcolors #commissionwork

Artist Spotlight: K’era Morgan We’re excited to present new work by K’era Morgan at the Affordable Art Fair Austin “The newest work in progress continues to build on my current practice; however, the biggest evolution is the use of embellishment. My paintings tend to be quite layered through the use of different drawing/painting media, but this time I’m creating even more textural layers through hand embroidery. It’s my way of bringing my love of global textile cultures and craft literally into my work vs. it being a source of inspiration.” - K'era Morgan Discover her newest pieces with us at the fair Affordable Art Fair Austin May 14-17 Palmer Events Center, Barton Springs Road, Austin, TX DM us for tickets & more info @affordableartfairtexas @k_apostrophe #keramorgan #artistspotlight #affordableartfair #affordableartfairaustin #mixedmediaart

This one is coming with me to Austin in a few weeks to the Affordable Art Fair. See you soon TX. . #newartwork #abstractartwork #losangelesartist #groundedinnature

I could share the polished professional photo of this home but honestly, the quick snapshot of “Geoglyph 8.14” in its forever home feels more like the moment. . When @sponzo_interiors came to me stating their client loved color I did a happy dance. Those are my type of collectors. And knowing this piece would live with a young family based in the Bay Area made it even more meaningful. . Thanks @kiaramatos_studio for the intro and ultimately @myrajonestaylor . A web of people and connections made this possible. . Collectors, consultants and designers, reach out to see more available work.

A momentary pause to enjoy this view… I started it a year ago, then let it be. It moved around the studio, quietly absorbing time while I worked on other things. I didn’t force it forward—I let it find its way back to me. It first peeked through in an earlier piece—bringing in this colorful cord, the wrapping and binding and stitching. The labor. Lately I’ve been enjoying letting my love of fiber and my textile background come forward and weave into my painting practice. Some pieces ask for patience. This was one of them. collectors, consultants and designers reach out if you want to know more before it heads out my doors. 36x58 | acrylic, oil stick, grease pencil, adhesive, poly cord, embroidery thread on wood panel

Studio time isn’t endless—it’s precious. And so is this life at home. At times they feel like they compete, until I change my perspective and seek a way to blend the two…Usually this comes after a quick cry and my partner @luisgoyanes confirming that miraculously, “I am doing it all and doing it well.” The coffee table becomes the studio, the in-between moments become time to make. Different worlds, same practice. And I feel lucky to live in the overlap. . PS- don’t judge my lazy capoeria in the last vid. 😬 This was after a morning training session. I was tired but engaging with my son in a sport we’ve both come to love is beyond words and worth the effort. #homework #workingartist #artistmother #abstractartworks #

Slow and steady… another work in progress that I’ll be sharing soon. You gotta wait for it. That’s what I continue to tell myself as these new pieces reveal themselves to me s l o w l y. . But if you want to see recent work and you’re in LA, reach out to me or visit the @artwolfgallery at the Pacific Design Center. The “Matriarch” show is up through mid-June and features a selection of works including another mixed media fiber artwork like this one. . By the way, I like virtual visits too. This is for the out of town fans. But Austin, I’m coming for you in May! #abstractartworks #artworkinprogress #fiberart #losangelesartist

An ode of gratitude for moments of slowness. This might be the slowest I’ve ever worked and I’m thoroughly enjoying it. That is until I start thinking about deadlines and my to do list.
