Chuck D articulated for me as a little Oregon hippy kid the oppression not only happening in his life but in my own community and communities across the globe. Art is powerful. Keep making. Keep reflecting on our past and dreaming into our future. Learn more Black History. It’s our responsibility to know our country’s true history no matter what color our skin is. It’s how we evolve for the better. Love to you all out there.
Its that time again in Oregon to finish harvests, cover all that shit in your yard, and prepare to tuck in. Favorite part of fall is to see the payoff of care and sunshine cooking down to flavor gold. Sending you all love from the kitchen.♥️
Cut our way out off the property with neighbors now that limbs have stopped falling. Lost 7 lovely trees, a trampoline and Sam and Tamaio’s childhood treehouse. All the chickens, dogs, kitties, people and houses are safe in our little corner of the world. No power but the Woodstove is keeping us cozy, country fair battery lighting is twinkling and I even made bagels in the Dutch oven. Love to you all out there. Take care of one another.
Ok Willamette Valley dwellers, buy this book! Learn the history that shaped this place through the stories of the indigenous peoples of the valley. If your local book shop doesn’t carry it, request it. Support Dr David Lewis and his research. Please and thank you!
Love this kid! My nephew working the smoker for 6 hours today. Uncle Lee and Brodie built this smoker from an old file cabinet for his 9th birthday at Brodie’s request.
I couldn’t have asked for a more devoted, compassionate and loving mom. Thank you for teaching me the value of lifting up our next generations to heights we could not achieve, while acknowledging the shoulders we stand on. That and how to make food full of love and how to throw a good party! Xo❤️✨
