rap songs by me about rapping, playing shows, going to quack doctors, dropping out, having a tattoo of a rose on my knee, etc. i got really into watching old drag race broadcasts so most of the speaking samples are from the interviews with drivers. obviously i made all the beats but i’ll never tell where those samples are from. anyways, this is a short one and i intentionally delayed it for a summer release so give it a listen while the sun sits high in the sky.
you treat the moon as a northern star, barrelling in chase until your stomach turns and tide pools well in the corners of your family tree. lake based metaphors wane when designed for anyone but slough people living in a van down by this and that river. embroidered chesterfields held heads and unwrapped presents. there's just something so incredibly futile about a quarter-mile.
book writers beget book pushers. rap songs don't require reading. agents of the academy already faltered so so heavily a hundred plus years ago, we worry not of their concern. they design exits and maps and buildings and bridges and genocide. not you... you count veins on all the leaves of a birch tree, drink sap, and lay placid as the sun melts bacon grease. i grew grey hairs awaiting permission. break rule, pay fine, repeat. besides, a border collie sung these ones.

rvaiv is my new beat tape available on limited edition cassette. this project came together following the @wpgbeatleague 2024 battle. a lot of the beats came from the pack i made for the battle. the rest are ones that either didn’t fit the battle format or that i cooked up with the post-battle inspiration.
28 minutes of instrumental sample-based hip-hop only available on cassette and digital download via bandcamp. streaming will come later.
