After 13 hours of travel I landed in Tbilisi at 5am. One by one I wrestled my suitcases up 3 flights of stairs in a Soviet era building and nearly broke into two wrong apartments because it was just too early in the day for Airbnb instructions. When I finally found mine, there was a bottle of Mtsvane and a string of churchkhela on the table. I tasted both before collapsing into bed.
I woke up at 3pm, still disoriented, and went searching for a sweater for my mountain trip. Instead, I wandered into one of the most scenic streets in Tbilisi and noticed a jewelry display in front of a Georgian hanging balcony house. Instinctively I started walking up the stairs as though someone called me in. Halfway up a man stepped out and gave me a nod to come in.
I never found the sweater for the trip, but I found jewelry that instantly makes you feel the energy of its maker, a conversation that stuck with me, and a family away from home.

Travel felt different this summer:
less chasing, more becoming.
reflection over rush
peace over chaos
connection over chance
and always pét-nat over everything
Last night I ran my last event at @thekathousecr - my little creation, my passion project, a life-long dream of creating something by me with things I love and hopefully others would love as well. What an amazing journey it has been and I am so thankful for everyone who supported it.
