Mixing it up with other illustrious folks @jvipper@julia_gorton_nowave@jill.greenberg (who sketched with me!) and fellow sketcher @tra4art and @danielkirkbooks who I didn’t get a chance to ask to sketch with me.
FYI - who was the super cool photographer with the beanie and the bespoke, hand stitched, grey windowpane suit. He’s in the upper left of the first drawing.

2. my songbook “The Little Boy Who Played with Dolls” one I wrote about John in 1978. My band THE ‘B’ Girls never got around to recording it and later I found out that Stiv (my boyfriend at the time) stole my words for a song he “wrote” for The Lords of The New Church! I wrote a few more songs for Johnny during our life long friendship.
This photo makes me laugh because we were singing “I’d Much Rather Be With The Boys” by The Rolling Stones and “Give Him a Great Big Kiss” by The Shangri-Las. Johnny wanted me to look more girly so he stuck that “first communion” bow and netting headpiece in my headband and wrapped a scarf over my jeans to make it look like I was wearing a skirt (something I never did). I was mortified! He dressed me like a DOLL!
Add that long fur tail he wore attached to his hair and the pirate eye-patch over one eye!!! It was the early 80’s … and the end of our scene; and Johnny was in his “stylist from hell” era. 🏴☠️
