Sixteen years ago, I arrived with more doubt than direction, more hope than certainty. The city didn’t welcome me with open arms it tested me first. It questioned my patience, my resilience, my reason to stay. Mumbai doesn’t hand you dreams. It makes you earn the right to even dream. There were days when silence was louder than applause, when rejection felt routine, and when giving up seemed like the most logical choice. But somewhere between the chaos and the loneliness of crowded streets, this city started shaping me. Today, when I look back, I don’t see just the hardships. I see the quiet wins, the unseen battles, the people who believed, and the moments that slowly turned survival into belonging.
Mumbai, you didn’t make it easy but you made it worth it.
Sixteen years later, I’m still learning, still fighting, still dreaming…But now, I do it with gratitude.
