As we approach our 31-year anniversary this February, we’re looking back to where it all began. These photos capture our ribbon cutting on February 22, 1995, and a glimpse of the gallery in its earliest days — a bare space full of possibility. Over the years, we’ve grown into the vibrant home we know and love today, proudly housing over 2,000 original works by Black artists. Thank you to everyone who has been part of our journey and helped us evolve into the community we are now.
