“Uh oh.” “Oh oh oh.” “Ay ay ay.” “Woah oh.” “La la la.”
No translation needed. No lyrics to memorize. Just sounds that every human already knows how to make.
Think about it — Kernkraft 400, Seven Nation Army, “Hey Ya!”, “Gasolina,” the Macarena, “Levels,” “Bad Romance”… all vowels in the hook. That’s not an accident.
When you’re DJing a wedding reception, a club set, a corporate event, or a house party and the dance floor is dead — reach for a vowel hook. It’s the fastest way to get a crowd singing together, even if they don’t know the song.
Works for hip hop. Works for EDM. Works for Latin music. Works for pop. Works for throwbacks. Works everywhere.
That’s the science. Now go use it.
It’s funny when ppl say I’m “actually” djing. Scratching is a dope part of DJing, yes, but that’s not the only skill that makes you an “actual DJ”
Being an actual DJ means being one with the culture.

Most people are focused on doing what works instead of doing what’s them.
