10 years ago on the first narrative feature I was welcomed to photograph in Bulgaria titled Bezbog, or ‘Godless.’ Not a single clue what I was doing. Never been more cold in my life. Having probably gone through a Béla Tarr phase. Somehow I can look back and appreciate these low res 12mp grainy images from a Leica Dlux I bought myself for my 25th birthday as more honest than anything I think I’ve done since.
