Just like you, my dearest Amelia, this post is coming a little late but happiest of birthdays to you! As I type through the tears, itās hard to think youāre already 5 years old! From being able to hold you in one hand to now carrying you with two arms, Iām so thankful for the intelligent, loving, caring, and compassionate being you have become so far. May you never lose that light and continue to grow and experience life with care, love, and connection with those around you. Papa loves you so much, you are the world to meš„°šš„°
Amelia says:
āFollow like Christ because you have empathy, compassion and humility, not because you want a one way ticket into heaven because of fearā
JK, she didnt say that, but remember to love one another and forgive. Our real enemies are those who want power and control and live through capital gain. Never forget what He did in his temple with the merchants and who He hung around with. Those with God-intoxication need guidance and will reap what theyve sowed when their time comes. Happy Easter.
Happiest of birthdays to this lovely little lady! 20 years of knowing and 13 years of debauchery has brought us to a life of sobriety and togetherness. What a way to spend our 40ās together isnāt it? To many more years around the sun, I love you hunnyyy!!
40 years of being a human and 21 of them Iāve been knowing you! Cheers to my best friend, lover, and dream boat! Iām so happy weāre here finally living our lives together! This weekend was so much fun, just us 2, doing all the things we love to do at our favorite place! I am so proud of your almost 2 years sober, working 2-3 jobs, being an amazing Papa, and always making time to put up with me! I love you with all my buttcheecks! Happy Birthday, King Dinkleburg šš¤¢ā¤ļøāØ @justintears #loveofmylife #40andfine #puropinchepariii
A few days late, but for reasons I couldnāt be more happy for. What started as a ājust a couple weeksā worth of work turned into a couple months worth. Being able to pick up extra work at the shop and do what I absolutely love to do has been such a blessing and I couldnāt be anymore excited for it.
Between my time with Amelia and the Shop, life has been moving pretty fast. Amelia is growing exponentially quick. Iāve said it before, but itās so sad to see her grow at this rate.
We felt the love of the Shop homies helping Amelia with her school raffle by selling out her tickets needed for the first half of the school year. She was so excited she made cupcakes for them. Finding the cup was a bit of a challenge for her, we almost ran a bit short - so we quietly made smaller cupcakes for the new guys, but we donāt think they noticed š«£š«£
Her comfort level on the field for T-Ball is getting a lot better and her confidence is absolutely shining! I was finally able to make a game this season which she was ecstatic for. I want to give a special shoutout to her uncle @mindarsonist for holding it down the past couple months with showing up for her games while I rot away at Metro.
We were able to visit two separate pumpkin patches this year, one with her grandma āMaiā (Susie) in Eagle Rock and CPP with @coco_luvs_bunny . We took a trip on the new A Line extension to Pomona and made a adventure of the day. Susie, Amelia and I had a bit of excitement on our way back to my apartment after our Eagle Rock trip when we witnessed a mini Cooper swerve over three lanes of traffic, take out a light pole, hit a tree, and slide down a ditch near the 5 interchange. The driver was clearly in shock, but we kept her alert until help arrived.
For Halloween we were able to participate in her trunk or treat at school this year and were blessed with cut outs by the Homie that absolutely stole the show and turned some heads.
All-in-all, things have been coming up Milhouse on our end. Thank you everyone who has helped with this adventure through life and shown my daughter the love and light of the world . We love you all so muchā„ļøā„ļø
Another blessed, beautiful month with Amelia! Its amazing how much a child can change in such a short time. Ive said it a multitude of times, but its incredible the speed at which they grow and advance.
Maintaining a balanced work load and time with Amelia has almost been a challenge, but Im thankful for having the flexibility I do at the shop with being a father and working with Metro.
Days consist of bouncing between early mornings with MTA and Amelia, followed by shop hours. Its amazing to be able to do something you love while becoming a better fabricator, it doesnāt feel like work at all.
Amelia has finally adjusted to school and I couldnāt be any more proud of her. Its a beautiful thing to see her friends waiting for her at the lunch table to walk into class together. It brings back so many memories with friends I still have to this day. Life is such a beautiful thing to experience even with so much turmoil in the world.
With that said, it goes without saying - fuck Israel, free Palestine. Stop the genocide. Weāre worried about the wrong people in this country. The same people that killed Kennedy killed Charlie. 9/11 was an inside job. Question building 7. Love you all
What a wild 5 days it has been! Finally took a break from the crazy amount of work Iāve been blessed with and took some time to myself. It all started on a Thursday catching NIN with the big bro @mindarsonist . Wild to think we saw them for the first time just over 25 years ago at the Pond in Anaheim. I remember waiting 6 hours at a Warehouse Music in Diamond Bar for those tickets for my brothers graduation/birthday gift and scoring pit tickets.
After a quick shift at Metro, I headed up north Friday with @coco_luvs_bunny and had a quick pizza tour in North Beach at Tonyās and Golden Boyās (golden boy takes the prize on this one).
While we were originally going up for The Prodigyās show at the Warfield, we extended the trip and had a nostalgic weekend at Portola. From Orbital and the Chemical Brothers to Dom and Duke, these feet havenāt danced that much since my 20ās.
We ended the stay with a Giants game, capped off with the amazing Prodigy. What an amazing experience filled with so much energy and lovely tribute to Keith. I was fortunate to catch them in 2006 at Rokout Fest at the NOS Events Center and they still carried that same powerful energy years laterš„š„
Back to reality, but these memories remain
August was a month packed full of memories. Ameliaās growth is too fast to handle at this point. From a perfect dentist appointment to (finally) getting her immunizations, she started TK and T-Ball this month. While sheās still getting used to being away from home, her adjustments are overall going well and growing her wings of independence.
We celebrated Susies birthday with Amelia getting the honors of blowing out her cake, sparked her imagination and curiosity by watching The Dark Crystal, and having a sleepover with her āsisterā Violet.
Iāve had the opportunity to continue my growth as a fabricator this past month by getting extra work in the shop and had my second breakdown while on a bus run. Ya bois been fortunate to have work lined up and staying sober with a special thank you to @coco_luvs_bunny for helping out at my apartment with laundry and keeping the place nice and tidy. To many more blessings and sobriety šš¾šš¾
Still settling in to the new place, but been busier than ever! Between a few trips to Disneyland and Susies surgery, Im finding a balance between work and family thatās finally coming together. I promise Ill make time for the homies soon, summers just starting ššŗšøš
What a jam packed June! From 2 visits to Disneyland, moving into a new place, and a Dodgers game, Amelia and I found time to celebrate uncle Adams birthday and cozy down with some Nintendo Switch action (thanks to uncle adam of course!). Amelia is growing quickly. From her coordination to speech, itās amazing how quickly we grow and adapt to our bodies and surroundings. Itās even more crazy to think our friends and family would say āyouāre getting so big!ā but you would still feel like the same child you were just a month ago. Time really is a thief that we shouldnāt take for granted. Hug those close to you and tell them you love them often - time is ticking faster than we realize šš
