2022 Fireflies (on the water) Type: Ripe / Shou Puer Vender: @white2tea Dry Leaf Scent: Cheerios, milk chocolate, chocolate milk, plain donuts, wood, hay, earth Wet Leaf Scent: Cheerios, milk chocolate, dark, chocolate, plain donuts, wood, hay, earth Mouth Texture: Skim milky, medium to thick body, minerality Taste: Skim milk, dark chocolate milk, wood, blackberry aftertaste Stars: 3.5 Verdict: This tea, 2022 Fireflies, is another one of the 6 lightly fermented ripe puer teas that Paul from white2tea has been aging for the past 4 years in Guangzhou. Like the others, there is a strong chocolate presence throughout. Dark chocolate is equally balanced with wet wood which occasionally pushes more to the forefront. Also like the others, there is a lingering blackberry aftertaste which doesn’t over stay it’s welcome. It’s another one that may take me a while to return to even though I do really enjoy the wood flavors. 2022 Fireflies is definitely not a bad tea, it is just not pushing me in any direction at the moment. Mao Jian King Type: Green Vender: @white2tea Dry Leaf Scent: Corn on the cob, cream corn, hay, Cheerios, buttered bread, wood, and earth Wet Leaf Scent: Corn, steamed buttered spinach, and hay Mouth Texture: Skim milky, thick body, smooth Taste: Milk, spinach, rice, buttered corn on the cob, slight astringent blackberry aftertaste Stars: 3 Verdict: I love the green teas that come from white2tea, but Mao Jian King is simply not working for me in the taste department. It’s not bad, I just have no urge at the moment to return to it. Maybe it’s the aftertaste taste mixed the the taste that hits the tongue. The tongue taste of rice, spinach and corn is good but mixed the blackberry aftertaste it falls apart for me. If you love raw puer this green tea will be your jam. I will say this though, I absolutely love the dry leaf and wet leaf scent of Mao Jian King. That is great! . . . . #tea #teareview #white2tea #greentea

2022 Airtanker Type: Ripe / Shou Puer Vender: @white2tea Dry Leaf Scent: Waffles, Cheerios, pancakes, wood, earth Wet Leaf Scent: Raspberries, blackberries, Cheerios, wood, earth Mouth Texture: Skim milky, medium to thick body, some minerality Taste: Milk, Cheerios, hot chocolate, wood, blackberry aftertaste Stars: 5 Verdict: 2022 Airtanker is another one of the 6 lightly fermented ripe puer teas, with 2022 Fleet and 2022 Valley being two that I have already tried, that Paul has been aging for the past 4 years in Guangzhou. Like those teas it also has a distinctly chocolatey minerality and blackberry aftertaste. With 2022 Airtanker though, the chocolate flavor is that of (dark chocolate) hot chocolate and (milk chocolate) chocolate milk combo and I’m digging that big time. This is my favorite of the bunch so far. It’s a lot like 2022 Valley, but with a little more going on. With 2022 Valley it took me a while to get into it, whereas with this 2022 Airtanker I’m all about it from the jump. That is not good though because it is a pricey tea at $83 for a 200 gram cake. 2025 Lamp Lighter Type: Ripe / Shou Puer Vender: @white2tea Dry Leaf Scent: Milk chocolate, fresh baked bread, plain donuts, Honey Nut Cheerios Wet Leaf Scent: Black berries, chocolate, bread Mouth Texture: Milky, thickish body, smooth Taste: Milk, wood, black berries Stars: 3.5 Verdict: Another tea from white2tea that feels like a lightly fermented shou/ripe but that is not. This tea is all about the wood, milk, and black berries. I think this is a tea that will definitely grow on me over time. At the moment, I’m on the fence, but I am going to give it a 3.5 out of a 5. It’s a solid, tasty, and good tea but nothing is standing out for me. I will say that I like how the black berries taste note it not lingering on the tongue. It’s got the chocolate milk and wood/earth vibes that I dig with a nice lingering blackberry aftertaste. It’s like drinking chocolate milk with a beautiful woody aftertaste. An interesting element to this tea is that it gives off lightly fermented shou/ripe vibes, but it’s not.
