This project came right on the heels of my great grandmother's passing and was such a perfect way for me to honor her. I felt a bit insecure at first collaborating on this project, but meeting other afro-indigenous creatives, and family really comforted me. It was lovely hearing stories of my great grandmother from another perspective and being apart of such a close community. Thank you for a warm return.

Full transparency my birthday was an entire month ago. I wasn't gonna celebrate it. I felt like I didn't have anything to celebrate and no one to do it with. I've been a multi year slump that I have been working so hard to overcome. When my grandfather passed, it made me remember time is limited. Every breath should be a celebration!
At the beginning of this year, I decided to fight my fears and stop isolating. This is a culmination of my effort. I've met so many kind and beautiful people! I reconnected with friends from over a decade ago. I'm so thankful for everyone I've met so far. Especially this year. I can't express how much your kindness has helped me grow so far. And I'm very proud of myself too 🎀
