Fashion is fleeting, but good design stands the test of time.
Case in point, this project.
Our client loved their house, but the space and flow of the property didn’t suit their lifestyle, they needed more space, more bathrooms, more bedrooms, and an office.
So, we reconfigured the first floor to accommodate an additional guest bedroom and ensuite, an ensuite to the master bedroom and office space.
On the second floor we extended over the existing double height extension to create a new bathroom and added an additional Dorma to the rear.
And added structural design elements, like lifting the ceiling in the spare bedroom, exposing the rafters in the bathroom, bespoke carpentry, and big, oversized windows to create the sense of spaciousness they were craving.
All exquisitely designed, to serve them now, and into the future.

Month 12 reno progress in stills! 📸
This was a big month with wood flooring install in many spaces, front windows going in, more plastering, arrival of the radiators, boiler and water cylinder install and the start of tiling.
There are still an overwhelming number of details to work through, and little challenges seem to pop up on the daily, but we are cracking on! 💪
Our reno task to-do list for this week:
➡️ Get some carpet ordered
➡️ Look at grout samples
➡️ Order light switches
➡️ Order door handles and locks
➡️ Lock in plans for curtains and window coverings
➡️ Get a bed so we can move into the loft space soon! 🤪

Some Architects live for only the concept and design stages of the build.
They're more than happy to hand things over to the contractors to see the project through.
That's not us.
We LOVE being on site.
Some might even say it's founder Greg's happy place (when it's clean and well organised that is...)
Aside from witnessing the exquisitely detailed designs come to life, it's because at heart, we're problems solvers.
With the best in the world, there will be things that don’t go 100% to plan:
You might dig up something unexpected...
Tolerances might be missed and the technical design needing to be adjusted...
Manufacturers installation requirements not quite met...
The good news is all are solvable, with the right balance of technical and design know-how.
THIS is the value of working with an architect from start to finish - beautiful designs are great, but if they're not executed to perfection, the reality might not live up to your expectations.
And to us, that is an unacceptable outcome.

New project!
Mega excited to transform this Edwardian house into a home.
Standing proud in a conservation area, this detached property oozes character and period features.
We're still very much at concept phase, but our proposal will definitely include a contemporary back extension facing the woodlands, with a new kitchen / dinner and a chilling out space for the whole family to enjoy and grow into.
The back exterior will get a spruce up and the garden redesigned to allow for plenty of entertaining space and grass area for the kids to play on.
