I know I don’t really speak much about what I do for a living on here but for the benefit of those who don’t know, I work as a brand and marketing strategist for a prestigious ad agency in Lagos.
I had the privilege of leading a brand building workshop for the management team at ValuAlliance Asset Management with my trusted sidekick @luminatiii23 (a bada** researcher) and the support of my boss @thebarefootstrategist
It was such an insightful experience for me and for our client and I’m glad that they had nothing but positive feedback right after.

Your first few months on earth were one of the toughest moments of my life and till today, it still hurts a little that I missed all those milestones because I wasn’t myself. Thank God we have forever to make up for lost time.

Trust me when I say that I didn’t know the benefits of volunteering when I started off, I just knew I enjoyed challenging myself and the Holyspirit was always there to help me achieve my goals.
My career journey of being a creative strategist started with me volunteering to take up a vacant role, after my bestie @attupz convinced me that I could do it. Much more recently, I took up two roles in my industry: sitting on the committee of women in advertising & being a juror for the 20th edition of the LAIF awards and I owe it to @ludvigvonkoko and @jumiano_lexain for nominating me.
Volunteering is a conscious choice we make; it is not something that should be done without a plan or simply out of compulsion. It’s a deliberate effort to give back to your community with no hopes of receiving anything in return. And in doing this, you awaken qualities and gifts within, that you never knew existed.
Volunteering has boosted my confidence, enriched and birthed skills, brought me recognition and made me cross paths with prominent public figures that I would have never met on my own. I’m grateful to those who continue to believe in me and nominate me, and I’m extremely encouraged by the young women that look up to me. It truly takes a village.
This International Women’s Day, make a conscious decision to #GiveToGain because in doing so you will gain what cannot be lost.

What a faithful and merciful God.
This marriage is proof that God is mindful of us.
No epistle here today, just gratitude.
The blessing of the Lord maketh rich, and addeth no sorrow.
Do you pray for your child(ren)?
Do you commit their future into Gods hands?
Do you speak life into them every day?
Do you intentionally teach them to speak life into their day?
Do you show them a good example of how to live well?
Do you show (not teach) them how to be kind to others?
Do you correct them in love?
Do you apologise when you’re out of line?
Do you actively show them how to be morally upright? What is your manual for that?
Do you teach them the consequences of wrong actions?
Do you talk to them about their Dreams? Ambitions? Desires? Fears?
Do you talk to them about failing?
Do you teach them about contentment?
Do you know their friends? Have you spoken on friendships?
Do you teach them that the world will not always accept them for who they are?
So I ask again, do you pray for your child?

This time last week I was preparing for the first edition of the ‘She Speaks’ series with these amazing ladies and it turned out to be a huge success.
I promise this is not a LinkedIn nugget, but this event actually taught me to trust my gut (and my God). It may sound like “ah ahn because of one Live event” but it was more than that for me; I stepped out of my comfort zone.
