Full circle in the game of life and basketball: From battling UST in the UAAP Finals as a DLSU player in ‘94 to DLSU’s head coach in 2013 against a Pido Jarencio-led team, my journey has been nothing short of fond and exciting memories. Now, I’m humbled and honored to join the UST Growling Tigers as an assistant coach, grateful to my Mentor and Friend Boss Al, Coach Pido, Father Rodel, and team managers Sir Eric and Sir Waiyip, and Arcee for welcoming me into the fold. This isn’t just a transition; it’s a homecoming to a place I once rivaled, now to mentor and guide young talents. Thankful for the chance to shape the future of basketball and the character of young men. Here’s to new chapters, legacy building, and the unbreakable spirit of the game.

Had an inspiring weekend in Cagayan De Oro connecting with Coach Pong Dacoco! 🏀 As the Region 10 Director for Samahang Basketball ng Pilipinas and Secretary General of the Cagayan de Oro Basketball Federation, Coach Pong’s 15 years of coaching experience have left a significant impact on the local basketball community.
Our discussion focused on grassroots development, targeting grade school to high school kids. Excited to collaborate on a basketball coaching clinic early next year with Magnolia team members, aiming to instill fundamentals and basic principles. Together, we’re advocating for a BAN on ZONE DEFENSE in all leagues to fast-track youth development.
Huge thanks to Coach Pong for his unwavering dedication and support. Looking forward to spreading this passion and advocacy across the entire Mindanao region! 🌟🏀 #StopPlayingZonePh

“The key is not the ‘will to win’…everybody has that. It is the will to prepare to win that is important.”
