🇬🇧 Dancehall Theme Battle – 4th Edition 🇬🇧 Concept of this year As usual, there will be 2 categories: * Gyal * Dancehall Male / Mixed (no Gyal songs) ⸻ Preselections A theme (object) will be randomly drawn. Dancers will perform in duos and be scored out of 10 by the judges, with the possibility of receiving feedback. So if you’d like feedback on your dancing, feel free to ask. 📝 If there’s an odd number of participants, one person will perform solo. Each duo will have a different object. Both dancers will perform at the same time, on the same track, using the same object (each with their own). Of course, the music will be related to the object. So be creative, innovative, and have fun with it! 💭 ⚠️ Please be mindful of people around you and the object you’re using. Example: If the track is Tom Cruise Remix by Don Andre, sunglasses 😎 will be provided. The goal isn’t just to win, but to: * challenge yourself * level up your dance * explore new possibilities ⸻ Judging Criteria ⚠️ The 2 most important criteria are: 1. Use of the object (creativity, originality) 2. Dancehall fundamentals (steps, flow, musicality) The goal is to successfully combine both. ⸻ Selection At the end of the preselections, the top 7 dancers from each category will be selected and will join the guest of each category. The running order will always be: 1. Dancehall 2. Gyal ⸻ Battles Then it’s time for: * Quarterfinals * Semifinals Each dancer performs one after the other: * with the same object as their opponent * on the same track There will be no pull-up: the music continues directly for the second dancer. For the semifinals, each dancer will have 2 rounds. ⸻ Judges Demo Even the judges play along! Their judge demo will also be a freestyle: an object is randomly selected… and they have to dance with it too 😉 ⸻ Final After the judges demo, the final will take place. Each dancer will have 2 rounds, using 2 different objects. ⸻ Event Spirit This isn’t a typical battle. Maybe not the most “fame-driven,” but it’s original, supportive, and designed to push you to grow. ⸻ Feel free to ask if you have any questions!
