Dry July is officially over—and what better way to mark the moment than with a throwback to the good stuff flowing.
Machine harvester hard at work, bins filling fast, and the vineyard buzzing. Celebrate with a tipple... or maybe just some grapes 🍇 We won’t judge.

Meet Rosie! 🐾
Not many know her, but once you meet her, you’ll absolutely love her. Queen Bee at Junction, Rosie runs the show when it comes to all things farm-related — and keeps a close (if slightly mischievous) eye on the vineyard.
Don’t be fooled by that sweet face… this girl’s got a wild streak! She once hitched a ride all the way to Wellington. True story.
Here’s to Rosie — one of the best vineyard doggos around. 💛 #winedogs_hq #junctionwines #ashridgewinery
Our cellar door hours? Let’s just say… they run on farm time. 😉🍷
We don’t have set opening hours here at Junction — it all depends on what’s happening on the farm and the vineyard that day. But if the flag’s out, we’re open — simple as that!
So if you’re passing by and feel like a yarn and a taste, swing in.
Or flick us a message—if we’re around, we’d love to pour you something.
25 years of Junction Vineyard ✨
Vintage 2025 marks 25 years of Junction Vineyard, and what a mighty accomplishment it has been!
Junction was started up by Jo and John Ashworth after John fell in love with Pinot Noir while on an All-Black tour in France in the 70s—a surprising choice for a tough rugby brute who preferred to go to the local French cafés over pubs.
After a few years (saving money for winery equipment, talking to neighbours, and making plans with Sir Richard Harrison and Malcolm Johansson), the first vines were planted in 2000 on what everyone now knows as Junction Vineyard.
Despite a few bumps along the way, Junction continues to thrive! Leith is still making exceptional and award-winning wines from the family's block, and Jo, John, Corey, Matt, and the rest of the crew are doing a fantastic job managing the vineyard for this year's harvest.
We're incredibly excited about the surprises we have in store for Ash Ridge and the Junction Range this year, and we can't wait to take you along for the journey!
