presents Member Of @wegalleryphotos | @jun.uncooks Hello everyone! After some time spent sorting files, verifying names, and editing, MAT5 (a photo-collective based in Saigon) and I are proud to present a nearly 10-minute photo-exchange video featuring 21 photographers from Saigon, Vietnam alongside the Japanese visitors who came to our exhibition. No pressure to watch it all — but we hope you'll take a peek, get into the groove, and maybe even stay for the whole thing The 5-day exhibition at Kakunotei in Shin-Nagata, Japan resulted in 254 trades from 435 displayed images. Built around a free print-for-print exchange, the event drew visitors who were genuinely engaged - many carefully deliberating their choices, going back and forth before committing to a trade. As you'll see in the video, some exchanges produced beautifully matched pairs, as if in quiet dialogue. This exhibition builds on a version first held in Tokyo in 2021 at Mizuma Art Gallery, where all the photographs were mine and visitors were invited to trade freely. It was a challenging and revealing experience - one entire wall of the gallery gradually transformed as visitors exchanged their images for mine, making each day's visit to the exhibition slightly unique. This time, in Kobe's Shin-Nagata, locals and visitors from surrounding cities made exchanges over five days. All photographs from Vietnam were curated beforehand, while visitors freely selected whichever images they wanted in exchange for their own. At its heart, this project is rooted in a belief in migration, cultural exchange, and the awareness that comes from experiencing one another's lives. We live under the same sun, breathe the same air, and share the same finite planet. The more we look, the more we find ourselves in each other. Migration. Flow of humanity. Values in civilization. We hope you'll join us in the next edition - and exchange your life photos with ours. Thanks to all the photographers. And to our organizer, Dance Box, for believing in this concept and helping bring it to life. Music from #InAudio: / Vintage Car, Runaway Van, Moving, That's right, Funky City

Happy International Women’s Day! 29 years ago on this day I opened my first “International” exhibition in Hanoi at 29 Hàng Bai Street. It was a start of my life in Vietnam and my career as an artist. I will always remember the early days and the people who were there for me. Thank you Vietnam for making the dream begin🤗 #artistslife #conteporaryart #photography #lifeinvietnam

——— Official Photo Concept taken by one true artist @jun.uncooks who taught me so much about how to see art and life 🤍 Thank you for letting our collaboration/ this album happened!
