It wasn't all fun but a chance to see @paul.scherrer.institut Swiss Light Source, nearby Pilatus Mountain, towns near Zurich, and Zurich itself made for a great first visit to Switzerland! Many thanks to @kateyal8r@memoryharbour for helping me see so much on this trip!
Between the science software sessions of SciPy was exploration of Austin. Lots of interesting things to see, like the bats, street art, and all of that good food!
Parks of the Upper West Side and Bronx - the High Bridge and Van Cordlandt. Lunch at Malecon (mofongo - plantains and meat) in the Little Dominican Republic, and UWS street art.
Meandering Midtown Manhattan. K(orean)-town, various art (The New Forty Niners, a Haring pattern, and a Rushmore). A nice afternoon strolling around the streets of NYC. More to come from Sunday....
A short exploration of Queens, NYC. Street art, lovely arepa (Colombian corn cake) at Arepa Lady (hi, @divadsixela !), constant 7 trains over Roosevelt, a new baseball stadium near Laguardia (not shown, pic gets chopped on Insta) and the new Chinatown of Flushing. Topped off with Chilean rapping buskers on the 7 train on the way back!
