In Canada, May marks Jewish Heritage Month.
As your Member of Parliament, I'm proud to honour the growing Jewish community in #DavenportTO not only for their contributions to our community, but also for their leadership in so many fields at all levels. It has been such a pleasure to get to know them across my own riding.
However, celebration must go hand in hand with vigilance. The rise in antisemitism is deeply troubling, and I want to be clear: it has no place in our country. We must call it out. That is why our government has introduced Bill C-9, the Combatting Hate Act, to ensure everyone, regardless of background, feels safe practicing their faith.
This month, I encourage everyone to take the time to learn something new about Jewish heritage and culture.

#DavenportTO has always been a hardworking riding, built by people who show up, roll up their sleeves, and get the job done. That spirit is exactly what Canada needs right now.
Our federal government is investing $6 billion in #TeamCanadaStrong — a nationwide effort to recruit, train, and hire up to 100,000 new Red Seal trades workers over the next five years. That means more good, union jobs right here at home.
Apprentices will get a $400 weekly top-up while training, plus a $5,000 bonus when they complete their certification. And small businesses will get up to $10,000 to help hire first-year apprentices.
