I’m so incredibly lucky that in my work, I get to celebrate women every single day. Their strength, creativity, and resilience inspire me constantly - but it’s more than that. Women lead with heart. They embrace vulnerability, make choices that go beyond themselves, and live with purpose. I’ve photographed women who are building, creating, and pushing boundaries while staying true to who they are. Today is just a reminder of what I see every day - women showing up, lifting others, and inspiring change. And in a world so often shaped by men, it’s also a reminder to stay kind, open, and unwavering in who we are.

In February studio was my happy place. Some of the shoots are still unpublished, so can’t share them, but here is a snipped of the 4 most creative projects this month. The real treat was the sun coming in on those rare dry days casting the most beautiful light on the backdrop. Thanks to amazing @ktgeoghegan @jennifersharkey_ from @catwalkmodelagency , @jay.hannon for a reallyinspiring moodboard and @stylebyjo.ie wearing @thecaterinastyle @ah.designs___ @annelouiseboutique with @cbeautywithfiona and @oliviagavinhair , at this stage regulars in my little studio on Westside.

Shooting medium format film is meditative. I have been seeking a more connected, authentic way of creating. Coming from a very fast-paced commercial photography to the deliberate, mechanical, soulful film process with the Mamiya 645 is like learning photography again. Since we moved to the countryside, I made a promise to myself to use the change of scenery to focus more on fine-art photography and to shoot more on film. And I’ve dreamed about getting this camera for a long time. The depth of field and that unmistakable tonal transition from medium format is something that digital software or AI can’t replicate. This camera was built in 1975; it doesn’t care about my deadlines. It forces me to stop. Every shot is a manual calculation. The focus, the aperture, the shutter speed...even loading the film is a ritual. You only get 15 frames per roll, and at 20 Euros plus the cost to develop, every click has to mean something. I’m slowly finding my grip on it. I still need to improve my scanning game, but as the light gets better, I’m soooo ready to shoot more. Shout out to amazing and very patient models @ktgeoghegan @aislingcheallaigh @jennifersharkey_ and @shaneomalleyart 🩷

The start of the year has been many things, but never boring. Meeting, connecting, creating, tuning in ( mostly to myself, which I slightly neglected last year) ... and making space for even more connection and creativity. There have been challenges, but they somehow feel easier to turn into lessons. And we are slowly settling into life in Mayo. Looking for a studio space here in Castlebar while I still keep my studio in Galway. 2026 promises wonders. And if you like me are into astrology, you know there are good things on the horizon. I couldn’t imagine a better start to the year. How was yours?

Still pinching myself because… 🫠 ... I’ve been awarded Commercial Photographer of the Year 2026 by @i.p.p.v.a ! Commercial photography is still very much male-dominated, and to receive this award as a woman feels important. Not just for me, but for how this industry can (and should) look. My approach to commercial photography has always been a little different. For me it's much more than producing beautiful images. It’s about collaboration. Communication. Team. Mutual respect. A creative process where everyone feels seen, valued, and heard. I’ve experienced plenty of being talked over, underestimated, and mansplained to along the way, and it’s shaped how I show up now, for myself and for others. Over the years, alongside sharpening my technical skills, I've learned to stand up for myself, and for other women and younger crew members, and to speak openly about ego-driven practices that have no place in a profession built on human connection. Representation matters. How women are photographed matters. Bodies, age, race, softness, strength, all of it. I care. My work is my life. And I want to work in a way that feels honest and human, and hopefully shifts things, even a little. IPPVA is celebrating 77 years this year, which makes this recognition even more meaningful. I’m incredibly grateful and I don’t take it lightly. If anything, it is giving me a fire in my belly to speak more, speak louder on how I believe photography industry should look like and how we can all thrive. You'll see more of me :)

✨ 2016 ✨ Could not resist jumping on this trend! In 2016 I turned 30, started taking photos in a style I still enjoy to this day, found my voice and my freedom, both personally and professionally. It was an eventful one. If 2026 carries even a fraction of that energy, I’m ready.
