Performing to Taqseem is one of my favorite parts of dance improvisation - trusting, following and reacting. I feel it’s never perfect, never polished, yet very real and honest.
P.S. I didn’t plan to record any dance videos during my recent photo shoot in Cairo, but I started listening to music … and could not resist ☺️

A little improvised magic from my latest trip to Chile ✨
I was originally scheduled to perform another Golden Era piece, but as my costume didn’t arrive on time, I had to change the program at the very last minute. My costumes finally showed up only on the last day of the festival!
Since it also happened to be my birthday, I offered the organizers this performance instead. It’s one of my favorite recent pieces, and sharing it with the students and guests during the celebration made it feel truly special. 💛
Sometimes the unplanned moments become the most memorable.

The “Maalema” show at the “Dance Date” Hafla in Rome🔥
What a splendid night it was! As I was closing the program, I had a chance to see all participants on stage (a rare case at shows). It felt like sitting in a circle, where everyone shares a favourite tale.
Through our dance, we became storytellers and listeners at the same time, connected without words.
And it was such a joy to perform for dancers who support you❤️ such a warm aftertaste!
