Print for Palestine (based in Utrecht and Berlin) is volunteer-driven collective that brings together art, culture, and activism in solidarity with Palestine. Through live screen-printing sessions, in collaboration with Kapitaal Utrecht, the collective creates spaces where communities can learn, connect and take part in visual acts of resistance. Using art as a visual statement, the collective tries to both amplify the call for the liberation of Palestine and raise funds for initiatives/projects that offer vital support during the ongoing genocide. Print for Palestine stems from the idea that art is not separate from struggle but an essential part of it, and through creativity and community we can contribute to a movement towards justice and peace. This edition, Lena Sławińska’s work “Tattoo Narratives” will be featured. Lena is a visual artist specializing in photography, with a focus on documenting everyday life, reportage, street photography, and portraits. Her graduation project, Tattoo Narratives, combines her Cultural Anthropology thesis with a photographic series exploring the relationship between tattoos, embodiment, and self-identity. The exhibition featured portraits of her research participants alongside interview excerpts, offering a visual and narrative exploration of how tattoos serve as personal and cultural expressions. Lena will have her camera with her to build upon previous material. If you have tattoos and find it interesting to discuss them and have them captured, feel free to approach her during the radio! Tomorrow, Lily Vogt’s (@lilyvote1 ) works will be featured: “This body of work was made to depict a ritual, an act that binds the participants. The body of work in full shows the movement of the bodies in a series that lets us see that photography is also a ritual; from the germination of an idea, the execution, but also the rhythm of the camera, the movement from one captured image (slice of time) to another. Though the selection here is few, the images together reveal the ritual of art making.” Lily Vogt is a photographer who depicts intimate relationships, particularly between women. Having worked as a model, Vogt is familiar with both sides of the lens. Her sensitivity to her subjects allows them to open up, shedding layers physically and emotionally.
