When I started skating, I wasn’t chasing a big goal. I just wanted to learn how to skate backwards, maybe do a little jump. Step by step, it became something much bigger.
At the time, I didn’t really trust my body—I was dealing with panic attacks. The rapid heartbeat, the high blood pressure, the feeling of not being in control—it made me doubt what my body could handle. And then I picked up a sport where your heartbeat naturally races, where you push yourself physically, and I realized: my body could take it. More than that, it could support me.
Now, years later, I’m still here, still skating, even teaching what I’ve learned. And it just reminds me that you don’t have to start something with the goal of mastering it. You don’t have to see the whole path ahead. Just take the first step, see where it goes, and enjoy the ride.

Still skating.
It has been harder to find the right place and time to skate since winter came. But we at @re.turn_berlin have been so lucky to get in touch with @baustellegemeinwohl and have been able to skate indoors once a week since November. Great initiative, and we’re very grateful for welcoming us!
Here is my version of the @monthly.wizard.challenge . I prefer to rotate after the first transition.

I call it the “Jelly”🪼
I’ve been obsessed with this move for a couple of months now. I’ve seen skaters approach it in different ways, like @l_ubaal and @jovinnam (watch them). This trick changes a lot depending on your intention and which foot you lead with. I really like shooting my leading leg out to create that sharpness. Lately, I’ve been trying to reverse it too — still practicing! It feels so powerful and so good. Jelly, because it’s super versatile, almost glitchy, and spiky. Try it! 🪼🪼🪼
