(Japanese below) We are really happy to announce our new company Studio Kaku - Yuki and I are combining forces, which makes sense as we’ve already been doing it for a few years… so now it’s official! Studio Kaku is a full one stop service - Everything from Art consulting, to artist liaising, the framing, the dreaded shipping logistics and installation.
Studio Kaku comes from Yuki’s family name - Kakuno which so conveniently means corner! How could that get better for a framer!

Yukiと私は、もう何年も一緒に活動してきましたが、いよいよそれが正式なかたちになりました。KAKUという名前は、Yukiの姓「角野」に由来しています。「角」には「コーナー」という意味があり、額装を軸に活動してきた私たちにこれ以上ぴったりな名前はないですよね！
STUDIO KAKUは、これまで通り額装（Juka Framing）に加え、アートハンドリング、アートストレージ、アートコンサルタント、マネジメント、キュレーションまでを手がけるアートスタジオです。作品を「飾る」だけでなく、アートとひとをつなぐすべての場面に関わっていきます。

I was really happy with the turn out of these floating frames - normally I’m quiet structured but with these pieces, I felt myself going with the waves of the paper. I had the pleasure of framing @duncanswann work on paper recently for his exhibition at @ultrasupernew
With the natural waves of the paper being so beautiful, we decided to frame in a floating style to highlight the papers characteristics.
Also, because Duncan’s signature was at the back, we also made a small signature window.
紙に生まれた自然な波打ちがとても美しかったため、その表情を活かす浮かし額装を選びました。
また、Duncan のサインが裏面に入っているため、小さなサイン用の窓も設けています。

Nature’s own work of art.
This tree has always felt unreal to me. In the coffee fields of El Salvador, it gives shade to the beans while its bark curls and falls away, revealing dancing colors, like nature painted its own masterpiece.
I painted it from below, as if you were hugging it. That’s what I did as a child. And in that simple gesture, I always found peace.
This piece was part of my solo exhibition Utopia collection at @the_harmonyst ✨
この木は、まるで現実とは思えないほど不思議でした。エルサルバドルのコーヒー畑で豆に影を落としながら、樹皮が自然に巻いては落ち、色とりどりの踊るような模様を見せてくれます。それはまるで、自然が自ら描いた一枚の絵のよう。
私はこの木を下から描きました。まるで抱きしめているように。子どもの頃、私は本当にそうしていたんです。そのぬくもりの中に、静かな安らぎを感じていました
